Presentations and Posters from Religion and Gender in South Asia Bowdoin College, Spring 2019
In January 2019, I visited and photographed a number of significant architectural sites in Tamil Nadu, several of which had been recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Some examples of sites I documented include Pallava stone temples and reliefs at Mahabalipuram and the temple cities of Kumbhakonam, Thanjavur, and Madurai. I used a number of images in this collection to provide a visual commentary for my lectures for a new course on Religion and Gender at Bowdoin College, offered in Spring 2019. Course development had been supported by an award from the Faculty Development Committee. For their final project, students chose one or two images to prepare presentations and posters, some examples of which are available below.
